    Backgammon is the oldest known game in history. Also known as the "wee battle," backgammon appeared in ancient Iraq almost five thousand years ago. For all that, Egyptians referred to backgammon as "Senat," which is a close type of the current game played right now. Backgammon and competing old games were never approved by many faiths. The clergy believe that the game was the work of the Devil. This led clergy to abolish and burn the game. The blacklisting and burning did not prevent folks betting on games and having fun.

    Computers offer an additional arena for Backgammon.
