As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and luck. The aim is to move your pieces safely around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opposing player moves their pieces toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to round out your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a damaged position if she ever tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of the competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
