The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the game board and get them off the board quicker than your opponent who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your chips into your home board and get them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The best scenario to employ this technique is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces a lot faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking strategy, by the name, is to block the opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about shifting your chips quickly. Once you have created the blockade for your opponent’s movement with a few checkers, you can move your other pieces rapidly from the board. The player really should also have a good plan when to extract and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game becomes interesting when the opponent uses the same blocking tactic.
